[yn] (n) Hello Blister, welcome to SlashEMExtended! You are a lawful female angelic Jedi. You are playing 'Unix SlashEMExtended Version 2.9.6 (7f71e5de) - last build Sun Jul 20 05:21:26 2025.' on a public server. For game discussion, bug reports etc. join the #em.slashem.me IRC channel on Libera. You should absolutely do that, unless you want to figure out this complex game on your own. Amy and other players will be glad to give you advice! IMPORTANT ADVICE FOR NEWBIES: The default control scheme on this server is vikeys (hjklyubn), which is borderline unplayable :-P You may want to switch to the *number pad*. I've created an easy way to achieve that: press Shift-O during the first 50 game turns to get a dialogue that allows you to switch, then you no longer need to wonder why the number pad keys only display 'Count: 22222' or some such garbage, but will be able to actually move. Seasoned players may add OPTIONS=number_pad:2 to their config file to turn the number pad on by default, or OPTIONS=nonumpadmessage to turn this reminder message off. Message of the day: The #monster command has been improved considerably and is now a menu that presents all the available abilities. Feel free to use it and tell me what you think. Attention, main weather broadcast coming in: The sky is cloudy. The moon is waning tonight. Invalid command, possibly you tried to use the number pad to move? You might want to turn on the number pad, which is done by opening the options with shift-O and navigating to the number_pad entry (it's not between null and perm_invent, you have to scroll further down to the compound options). Toggle that with the appropriate letter key and hit spacebar (not escape!) until the number_pad dialog comes up, and set it to 2. Alternatively, you can also turn on the number pad by adding this line to your options file: OPTIONS=number_pad:2 (probably requires you to start a new game).
